Visual Computing and Image Processing Lab
(VCIPL) at OSU is dedicated to both fundamental and applied research in the areas of
computer vision, image/video processing, multimedia, biomedical imaging and
remote sensing applications.
Supported by OSU, VCIPL was founded in 2001, and previously
it was called Visual Communication and Image Processing Lab.
The VCIPL is now located in ATRC233.
Dr. Guoliang Fan was
appointed as the director of VCIPL. Since 2001, VCIPL has been funded by OSU,
Environmental Institute, NSF, NASA, OCAST, and DoD (Army Research Office), etc.
The following research topics are of interest to the VCIPL.
- Generative models for computer vision
- Biomedical imaging and retinal image analysis
- Statistical image and video modeling
- 2D/3D object tracking and recognition
- Geospatial Decision Support System (DSS)
